MR. MERCER PLEASE PRESENT THE 2020 THROUGH COLLEGE OR NATIONAL RECOGNITION PROGRAM AWARDS FROM STUDENTS FROM NEWBURY PARK, THOUSAND OAKS AND WEST VERY HIGH SCHOOLS.

AND MEMBERS OF THE CD UST COMMUNITY.

IT IS MY PLEASURE THIS EVENING TO RECOGNIZE OUR STUDENTS FROM NEWBURY PARK HIGH SCHOOL, THOUSAND OAKS HIGH SCHOOL AND WESTLAKE HIGH SCHOOL FOR THE ACADEMIC HONORS THAT THEY EARNED FROM THE COLLEGE BOARD THROUGH THE COLLEGE BOARD RECOGNITION PROGRAM. THIS AWARD IS SITUATED TO THE STRONG ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE AND IS AN INCREDIBLE HONOR TO BE RECOGNIZED FOR THEIR HARD WORK, DEDICATION AND COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION. FURTHERMORE THIS RECOGNITION HIGHLIGHTS THE DISTRICT'S ONGOING COMMITMENT TO DIVERSITY EQUITY AND INCLUSION. THESE AWARDS CELEBRATE STUDENTS IN ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING AREAS.

WE HAVE THE NATIONAL AFRICAN-AMERICAN RECOGNITION AWARD, THE NATIONAL HISPANIC RECOGNITION AWARD IN THE NATIONAL INDIGENOUS RECOGNITION AWARD AGAIN PRESENTED BY THE COLLEGE BOARD. IN ORDER FOR OUR STUDENTS TO RECEIVE THIS AMAZING AWARD THERE ARE SOME CRITERIA INVOLVED.

SOME OF THOSE CRITERIA ARE THE FOLLOWING.

STUDENTS WILL HAVE HAD TO OF EARNED A 3.5 OR HIGHER GPA.

THAT IS ONE. THEY ARE WITHIN THE TOP 10% OF ALL OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA FOR THE PSAT NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLAR AND PSAT 10 TEST. OR THEY WILL HAVE HAD TO OF SCORED A THREE OR HIGHER ON TWO WERE MORE AP EXAMS IN THE NINTH OR 10TH GRADE YEAR. IN THE THIRD CRITERIA, THERE IS THREE THEY WOULD HAVE TO ATTEND SCHOOL IN A RURAL AREA OR SMALL-TOWN OR IDENTIFY AS AFRICAN-AMERICAN BLACK, HISPANIC, LATINO OR INDIGENOUS NATIVE.

IT GIVES ME GREAT PLEASURE TO INTRODUCE THE 20 STUDENTS FROM MY THREE HIGH SCHOOLS FOR THIS AMAZING AWARD.

MY NAME IS LANA CLARK AND HAVE THE PRIVILEGE OF SERVING AS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE CONEJO SCHOOLS FOUNDATION.

IT'S WONDERFUL TO BE BACK WITH THE WALL TO PROVIDE AN UPDATE ON THE WORK AND HER PLANS FOR THE YEAR AHEAD.

FOR THOSE OF YOU ELICITING AT HOME IF YOU DON'T ALREADY KNOW, CONEJO SCHOOLS FOUNDATION OR CSF IS A 5O1C3 NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION IN OUR MISSION IS TO SUPPORT STUDENT SUCCESS THROUGHOUT THE CONEJO VALLEY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT.

BY PROVIDING LOCAL SUPPORT FOR LOCAL SCHOOLS.

THANKS TO THE GENEROSITY OF HER LOCAL SUPPORTERS, WE ARE EXCITED TO ONCE AGAIN OFFER CSF TEACHER GRANTS FORMALLY KNOWN AS CASH FOR CONEJO GRANT THIS FALL. NEC SF TEACHER CAN APPLY FOR A GRANT FOR UP TO $300 AND AS OF THIS AFTERNOON WE HAD 103 APPLICATIONS ALREADY IF TEACHERS ARE INTERESTED THEY CAN APPLY BY OCTOBER 13 AT CONEJO SCHOOLS.ORO PROUD TO OFFER ASSISTANCE TO SPELLING BEE REGISTRATION PRETTY MIDDLE OR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AND LOOK FORWARD TO SEE STUDENTS TAKE THE STAGE LATER THIS YEAR.

WE ARE ALSO EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE A PARTNERSHIP WITH SAFE PASSAGE FOUNDATION CSF HAS MADE A COMMISSION FOR THE NEXT THREE YEARS HELPING ASSIGN SPECIALIST AT MADRONE ELEMENTARY.

THE SPECIALIST IS REALLY BEEN HIRED AND IS CURRENTLY MEETING WITH TEACHERS AND WILL ROLLOUT TO GRADES 1 - 5 IN OCTOBER.

WE ARE EXCITED FOR THIS NEW OPPORTUNITY AT A TITLE I SCHOOL AND TO WORK WITH PRINCIPAL MUNDELL TO PROVIDE THE AMAZING RESOURCE TO THE MUSTANGS. ALONG WITH MEMBERS OF THE CONEJO COALITION FOR YOUTH AND FAMILIES INCLUDING VICE PRESIDENT CYNDI GOLDBERG CSF SUPPORTS RECENT INITIATIVES TO HELP ENCOURAGE KIDS AND FAMILIES TO WALK AND ROLL TO SCHOOL AND LOOKS FORWARD TO SUPPORTING EVENTS PLANNED AROUND THE DISTRICT LATER THIS FALL. I AM VERY PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THAT WE RECENTLY LEARNED THAT CSF WAS AWARDED THE 15000-DOLLAR GOOD NEIGHBOR GRANT FROM THE CONRAD AND HILTON FOUNDATION WHICH WILL PROVIDE DIRECT STUDENT SUPPORT TO THE CONEJO CLOSET. WE THINK THE HILTON FOUNDATION FOR THE SUPPORT AND OPPORTUNITY TO FULFILL THE NEEDS OF OUR MOST VULNERABLE STUDENTS. LAST BUT CERTAINLY NOT LEAST I AM VERY EXCITED TO INVITE YOU ALL TO A 20TH ANNIVERSARY STALL LI STARLIGHT BEING HELD ON SATURDAY OCTOBER 14 AT THE WESTLAKE HYATT FOR MORE THAN 200 PHILANTHROPIST CORPORATE COMMUNITY AND FAMILY LEADERS. IN TRUE 20 STYLE THE EVENT WILL FEATURE A SPEAKEASY, SILENT AUCTION AND AWARD CEREMONY WERE SCOTT BUCHANAN AND ARTS ADVOCATE LONGTIME CRV B EMPLOYEE CONEJO CONSERVATION OF PASSAGE IN YOUR VERY OWN CAN I HAVE CLOSET WILL BE RECOGNIZED AS STARS OF THE CONEJO VALLEY.

I APPRECIATE THE OPPORTUNITY TO SPEAK WITH YOU HERE TODAY AS THE STUDENT IS FOUGHT SINCE THE DISTRICT'S DECISION OF DECEMBER 21 RESPECTIVELY PLEADED WITH THE BOARD OF THE ADMINISTRATION TO ALLOW CONEJO TO CONTINUE OPERATING UNDER NEW LEADERSHIP AT 975 THE CAMPUS OF THE CONEJO SCHOOL IS LICENSE IN THE DISTRICT FOR 35 YEARS. I LOVE CONEJO IN THE STAFF, TEACHERS AND THE STUDENTS THAT I LOVE THE CAMPUS THAT YOU GENEROUSLY ALLOW THE SCHOOL TO LEASE FROM YOU.

WE CONTINUE TO PLAN FOR RETIREMENT BUT I WANT TO BE VERY CLEAR MY TOP PRIORITY IS ENSURING CONTINUE THE TALLY AND GROWTH FOR THE SCHOOL BEYOND OUR TIME AS OWNER OPERATORS.

I HAVE COMPLETE CONFIDENCE IN THE NONPROFIT VOLUNTEER BOARD OF DIRECTORS. I'VE SEEN THE DIRECTORS TACKLE DIFFICULT ISSUE WITH PASSION, WISDOM, EMPATHY.

THEY REQUIRED LITTLE ADVICE AND GREATER HEIGHTS IN THE LEAST CONCURRENT. WHEN HOLLY AND I PURCHASED A SCHOOL 18 YEARS AGO THE ASSIGNMENT OF THE LEASE BY THE DISTRICT WAS ACHIEVED BY THE SIMPLE ONE LINE LETTER THAT TOOK A COUPLE OF WEEKS FOR THE DISTRICT TO PROVIDE.

WE WERE NOT ASKED FOR FINANCIAL STATEMENTS, BUSINESS PLANS OR PREPAID RENT, THE CURRENT PROCESS WAS STARTED 18 MONTHS AGO AND WE REQUESTED A SIMPLE ASSIGNMENT RELEASED TO THE NONPROFIT. AFTER COUNTLESS HOURS IN OVER $100,000 OF LEGAL FEES WERE STILL NOT FINISHED.

THE NONPROFIT BOARD SECRETARY WILL FOLLOW ME WITH STATEMENTS OF HIS OWN IN A MAKE REASONABLE REQUESTS.

I'M ASKING YOU TO TAKE THEM TO HEART.

I'M ASKING YOU TO CONSIDER WHAT CAN A HALL HAS ALREADY MADE AND LOOK UPON THE AREAS WITH DISAGREEMENTS REMAIN AND IMAGINE IF YOU WOULD CONSIDER THE TERMS BEING OFFERED TO US IF CONEJO WAS YOUR SCHOOL. IF THE DISTRICT CANNOT COME TO TERMS FOR THE NONPROFIT WE ARE PREPARED TO DELAY OUR PROFIT AND CONTINUE TO OPERATE THE SCHOOL UNDER THE CURRENT LEASE FOR THE REMAINDER OF ITS TERM WHICH IS JULY 31, 2025.

WITH THIS BOARDING THE ADMINISTRATORS EXCEPT THOSE TERMS. SUCCESS IN ESTABLISHING WITH CAMEJO SCHOOL DOES NOT REQUIRE LEGAL EXPENSES. SUCCESS IN ESTABLISHING A NEW LEASE DOES NOT HAVE TO TAKE A LOT OF TIME SUCCESS IN ESTABLISHING WITH CAMEJO SCHOOL ONLY REQUIRES AN EFFORT FROM BOTH PARTIES AND I GUARANTEE CONEJO SCHOOLS BOARD OF DIRECTORS IS WILLING TO WORK WITH YOU IN GOOD FAITH AS WE HAVE BEEN DOING FOR THE PAST YEAR.

I'M SKIPPING AHEAD. THE NEXT LINE SHOULD BE ALL THE MEMBERS. THIS WAS THE ORIGINAL COMMITTEE AS YOU CAN SEE WE HAD REPRESENTATION FROM THE SCHOOL AND ALSO DIFFERENT POSITIONS THROUGHOUT AND WE WANTED TO MAKE SURE WE CAPTURE AS MUCH AS WE COULD FROM THE DIFFERENT AREAS WHICH IS THE DISTRICT LED PLAN AND WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT WE INCLUDE A LOT OF MEMBERS.
