WE ARE GLAD TO SEE YOU. >> GOOD EVENING PRESIDENT GAIL AND MEMBERS OF THE BOARD.

MY NAME IS MARIAH HILL AND I AM HONORED TO BE REPRESENTING THE HIGH SCHOOL FOR THE 2023 AND 2024 SCHOOL YEAR. AND I HOPE VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL IS OFF TO A GREAT START.

SO FAR THIS YEAR WE HAVE 27 NEW STUDENTS AND SOME OTHER STAFF MEMBERS HAVE SMOOTHLY INTEGRATED INTO OUR SCHOOL. WITH THE GOAL OF INCREASING STUDENT ENGAGEMENT THE SCHOOL STAFF HAS INSTRUCTED A NEW CELL PHONE POLICY REQUIRING STUDENTS TO LEAVE THEIR CELL PHONE CLASSROOM AND PERIODS OF POLICY WORKING.AS MANY OF OUR STUDENTS ARE EMPLOYED.

THIS YEAR WE HAVE ADDED A WORK EXPERIENCE CLASS WHICH MEANS EVERY WEDNESDAY THEY MEET DURING LUNCH. STUDENTS IN THE CLASS CAN EARN FROM 5 TO 10 CREDITS.

THE CLASS IS TAUGHT BY ONE OF HER STUDENTS. THE LEADERSHIP CLASS MAKES PLANS AND PROMOTES ACTIVITIES. THE LEADERSHIP CLASS HAS BEEN SPREADING PRODUCTIVITY THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL BY GIVING PERSONALIZED NOTES EVERY STUDENT.

SOME OF THESE NOTES CAN INCLUDE SMALL NOTES ABOUT SMILING. WE ARE ALSO PLANNING FOR HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH AND TALKING ABOUT PUTTING IN DIFFERENT FACTS ABOUT DIFFERENT HISPANIC PEOPLE. ANOTHER AREA THAT WE'VE BEEN FOCUSING ON IMPROVING OUR SCHOOLS ATTENDANCE.WE HAVE WELLNESS WEDNESDAYS. EACH WEDNESDAY WE WILL EXTEND OUR. TWO CLASSES BY 10 MINUTES IN ORDER TO INCLUDE A WELLNESS ACTIVITY. BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT WILL BE HELD ON THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 14 AND WILL KICK OFF OUR INTERACTIVE MEETING ON SEPTEMBER 9. WE HAVE SET OUR ANNUAL PLEDGE DRIVE FOR OCTOBER 31. WE WANT YOUR BLOOD.HANK YOU

I'M EVAN SUSSMAN AND IT'S A PLEASURE TO BE JOINING YOU ON BEHALF OF NEWBERRY HIGH SCHOOL.

TO QUICKLY REVIEW WHAT HAPPENS FIRST FEW DAYS ON AUGUST 14 WE WELCOME THE CLASS OF 2027 FRESHMAN ORIENTATION. WE HAD A RALLY WITH BICYCLE RACES, GAMES, PRICES AND MANY OF ENTERTAINMENT. WE HOPE THEY HAD A GREAT IMPRESSION OF THEIR HOME AWAY FROM HOME FOR THE NEXT FOUR YEARS. ON AUGUST 18 OUR FOOTBALL TEAM LISTED THE GRIZZLIES FOR THE FIRST HOME GAME OF THE SEASON. OUR STUDENT SECTION SHOWED UP WITH GREAT SPIRIT TO KICKSTART A GREAT SEASON. ON THE FIRST DAY THEY DECORATED THE CAMPUS POSTERS, STREAMERS AND PASSED OUT BRACELETS TO THE STUDENT BODY.

MUSIC WAS PLAYED AT LUNCH TO SET A VIBRANT AND WELCOME STUDENTS BACK TO THE SCHOOL YEAR.KICKING OFF THIS MONTH ON SEPTEMBER 1 THE SENIOR CLASS CELEBRATED THE START OF THEIR FINAL YEAR BY GETTING UP EARLY AND GETTING LESS SLEEP. THIS EARLY WAKE-UP WAS FOR PARTAKING IN THE SENIOR SUNRISE WERE DONUTS WERE GIVEN OUT TO THE SENIORS AND WE GOT TO RELAX COMING OUT WITH FRIENDS AND LISTEN TO MUSIC WHILE WE WATCH THE SUNRISE.

FOLLOWING THE SUNRISE THE PANORAMIC PHOTO WAS TAKEN. LOOK FORWARD TO THE REST OF THE MONTH THERE ARE TONS OF ACTIVITIES THAT ARE YET TO COME.

PARENTS WILL ATTEND BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT WITH VIRTUAL AND IMPERSONAL OPTIONS THIS YEAR.

WE WILLBE CELEBRATING BIRTHDAYS FROM JULY TO SEPTEMBER . THEY WILL WRAP UP THE WEEK WITH THE PEP RALLY WITH LUNCH ON FRIDAY FOLLOWING THE TAILGATE IN FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS.

WE ARE VERY EXCITED FOR THIS WEEK. THAT NIGHT THE DEPARTMENT WILL HOST THE ANNUAL 24 HOUR THEATER FESTIVAL WHERE STUDENTS WRITE, DIRECT AND PERFORM SHOWS WITHIN ONE DAY. PERFORMANCES CAN BE SEEN AT THE TIMBER 23RD AT 8:00.

FINALLY IN THE LAST WEEK OF THIS MONTH WE WILL BE RECOGNIZING STUDENTS OF THE MONTH AND HOST THE ANNUAL CLUB RASH WERE CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS GET TO PROMOTE A HUGE LUNCH. LOOKING FOR HER TO HOMECOMING ON THE LAST DAY OF SEPTEMBER WE WILL GIVE OUT INVITATIONS TO OUR STUDENT BODY WELCOMING THEM TO OUR HOMECOMING DANCE.

MY NAME IS ASHLEY BEACH AND AS VICE PRESIDENT IS MY JOB TO REPORT FOR T OHS.

UNDERSTANDING THE HEAVINESS IN OUR COMMUNITY AM GRATEFUL TO SHARE AS A CONEJO VALLEY UNIFIED DISTRICT STUDENT. THE MONTH OF AUGUST HAS BEEN A BUSY BUT EXCITING MONTH AS WE HAVE WELCOMED A NEW CLASS OF OVER 400 FRESHMAN IN ADDITION TO NEW MEMBERS AND OTHER CLASSES AS WELL. ONE WEEK BEFORE THE SCHOOL YEAR BEGAN WE HOSTED OUR ANNUAL MONSTER LUNCH THEY SPENT THE MORNING ON CAMPUS EXPERIENCING AUTHENTIC RALLY IN OUR GYM AND HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO GET TO KNOW THE CAMPUS, FELLOW STUDENTS IN AREAS OF THE SCHOOLS THAT THEY CAN GET INVOLVED WITH. I'M HAPPY TO SAY THAT THIS WAS ONE OF OUR MOST SUCCESSFUL LAUNCHES IN YEARS. I'M PROUD TO SHARE THAT EACH NEW FRESHMAN AND TEACHER ON CAMPUS WILL JUMP INTO SCHOOL SPIRIT IMMEDIATELY.

WE BEGAN A NEW VENTURE OF A COLLABORATION BY PARTICIPATING WITH THE HIGH SCHOOL AND WESTLAKE HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMS BEFORE THE BEGINNING OF THE SCHOOL YEAR STARTED.

WE PARTNERED WITH SCHOOL ORGANIZATIONS CALLED INVOLVED SCHOOLS AND THEY HOSTED A SIX HOUR LONG INTERACTIVE TRAINING FOR STUDENT LEADERSHIP GROUPS. NOT ONLY DID WE HAVE SO MUCH FUN CONNECTING WITH THE STUDENTS OF THE DIFFERENT CAMPUSES BUT WE ALSO WERE GIVEN A NEW CHARGE AND FOCUS OF SWITCHING OUR ENTIRE MINDSET AROUND STUDENT INVOLVEMENT AND ACTIVITIES. INSTEAD OF THINKING ABOUT ACTIVITIES IN WHICH WE ASK OF THE STUDENTS ON OUR CAMPUSES WE ARE NOW FOCUSED ON HOW TO GIVE OUR STUDENTS OPPORTUNITIES FOR INCLUSION, COMMUNITY AND TRUST. WE HAVE ALREADY IMPLEMENTED MANY DIFFERENT GIVE OPPORTUNITIES AND WE HAVE SEEN POSITIVE SCHOOL CULTURES FROM DAY ONE.

AS WE PREPARE FOR HOMECOMING WEEK AT THE LAST WEEK OF SEPTEMBER THIS MINDSET OF GIVING HAS BEEN A CORE FOCUS OUR PLANNING. WE ARE REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO GROWING OUR SCHOOL CULTURE IN THIS WAY. I'M HAPPY TO REPORT THAT IS FALSE ARTS PROGRAM IS OFF TO AN EXCELLENT START. WE FIND A SUCCESS BOTH ON THE PLAYING FIELD AND OFF THE FIELD WITH TONS OF STUDENT INVOLVEMENT WITH ATTENDANCE TO ATHLETIC EVENTS IN OUR STUDENT SECTION. OUR CHEER AND DANCE PROGRAMS HAVE PERFORMED EXCELLENTLY AND CONTRIBUTED SO MUCH HYPE AND EXCITEMENT TO OUR STUDENT BODY.

OUR FULL THEATER PROGRAM IS GEARING UP FOR A GREAT LUNCH THIS WEEK WITH AUDITIONS AND WE ARE LOOKING AHEAD TO A GREAT PRODUCTION AS ALWAYS. I'M VERY PLEASED WITH OUR START TO THE SCHOOL YEAR AND I'M TRULY HOPEFUL FOR AN EXCELLENT YEAR AHEAD.

THE SPIRIT DOWN FRIDAY STUDENT LEADERS SHOW THEIR SUPPORT FOR WESTLAKE BY ENCOURAGING STUDENTS TO BRING FLOWERS TO THE MEMORIAL SET UP AND ALSO BY BRINGING POSTERS SIGNED BY HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS THAT WE HAVE HANGING OUTSIDE OF OUR OFFICE. ALSO A BIG THANK YOU FOR THE SUPPORT FROM OUR AMAZING COMMUNITY. WE APPRECIATE YOUR KINDNESS AND SUPPORT DURING THIS DIFFICULT TIME. WE HOW TO MAKE STUDENTS FEEL MORE COMFORTABLE IN OUR CAMPUSES.

FOR BACK TO SCHOOL THIS YEAR, WE TOOK SOME OF THE IDEAS SHARED WITH US DURING THIS RETREAT AND CREATED A WELCOME BACK WITHIN OUR ASG CLASS. THIS COMMITTEE WENT AROUND DURING THE FIRST WEEK OF SCHOOL AND PASSED OUT POSITIVE INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS.

WE ARE CONTINUING TO DO WEEKLY CHALLENGE IS TO ENCOURAGE INVOLVEMENT FROM MANY STUDENTS.

LASTLY WE ARE PROUD TO HAVE THE TALENTED FLAG FOOTBALL TEAM REPRESENTING US FOR THE FIRST TIME. THEY ARE FOUR AND ZERO RIGHT NOW AND WE ARE EXTREMELY

THEY SAW ONLINE WITH HER CHILD TEACHER WAS GOING TO BE AND THE PARENT REACHED OUT TO THAT TEACHER AND SAID THIS IS MY FAMILY I JUST WANTED TO GIVE YOU A HEADS UP.

CHILD WOULD'VE NEEDED A BIT EXTRA.THE JURY EMAILED BACK WITHIN AN HOUR ACTUALLY SURPRISINGLY AND SAID I'M REALLY SORRY. I HAD YOUR CHILD ON MY ROSTER BUT AS WE KNOW IT HAPPENS.THE CHILD WAS MOVED TO A DIFFERENT CLASS.

AS WELL AS INTENTIONALITY WITH NEWCOMERS FOR 56 STUDENTS. FOR THIS PROGRAM IT WAS REALLY NICE THAT WE COVERED ANYTHING FROM OUR EMERGING STUDENTS THAT ARE REALLY JUST LEARNING HOW TO USE THE ACADEMIC LANGUAGE WITH A LOT OF SUPPORT THROUGH THE BRIDGING WHERE THEY USE THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE AT AN ADVANCED LEVEL WITH MINIMAL SUPPORT AND HAVING THEM INTERACT AND SUPPORT EACH OTHER THROUGH THE PROGRAM. THE INSTRUCTIONAL FOCUS, I LOVE TO SHOW THIS SLIDE.

AS I SHARE A BIG FOCUS ON ENGLISH DEVELOPMENT WITH LANGUAGE ACQUISITION.
