I WANT TO START WITH A REALLY BIG THANK YOU TO MISTER DENNIS CARTER OUR PRINCIPAL AT THE ELEMENTARY WHO DID A GREAT RENDITION OF CRACKLE AND ROSIE AT CHARITY KARAOKE JUST A FEW WEEKS BACK AND TOOK ON THE FIRST PLACE PRIZE FOR THE CROWD FAVORITE AND $3000 FACING SOME STIFF COMPETITION FROM TRUSTEE POWELL AND GOLDBERG WHO ARE THERE REPRESENTING A PARTNER ORGANIZATION ALSO SERVING STUDENTS SAFE PASSAGE. IT WAS A GREAT EVENT AND A GREAT WAY TO ENTER THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR. THE FOUNDATION WAS ABLE TO PROVIDE 200 BRAND-NEW BACKPACKS, COMPLETE SCHOOL SUPPLY KITS AND WATER BOTTLES FOR 200 ELEMENTARY STUDENTS. WE ARE GRATEFUL FOR THE STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES TEAM LED BY AMBER BOWMAN WHO MAKES SURE THE FAMILY GETS THE ITEMS THEY NEED TO GET THE SCHOOL STARTED RIGHT. THANK YOU FOR A GREAT TWO SEMESTERS.

WE ARE EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THAT WE WILL BE RENAMING WHAT WAS FORMERLY KNOWN AS CASH FOR CONEJO GRANTS. IT WILL NOT BE CSF OR THE FOUNDATION TEACHER GRANT.

THAT WINDOW FOR GRANTS WILL OPEN APPLICATION STARTING SEPTEMBER 5. WE WILL MAKE SURE TO GET INFORMATION OUT TO TEACHERS IN THE DISTRICT AND THE PRINCIPLES.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST WANTED TO PROVIDE AN UPDATE. WE ARE CELEBRATING OUR 20TH ANNIVERSARY AS A FOUNDATION THIS YEAR. THANK YOU WE LOOK FORWARD TO

I KNOW THAT WAS ACTUALLY TWO MONTHS AGO BECAUSE A CHECK FOR PAY.

WE HAVE TO DO SOMETHING FOR THESE LADIES BELIEVE THAT IT STATES FIVE DAYS AFTER YOU REALIZE THERE IS A MISTAKE YOU PAY THEM. THEY REALIZE THAT IS FOR 8 AUGUST THAT SHOULD'VE BEEN PAID. EMAIL HAS BEEN SENT TO THE CLASSIFIED AND AGAIN OUR DEEPEST APOLOGIES. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.

THE CHARGES INTEREST ON MONEY AND WE STILL HAVE TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO COME UP WITH THE FUNDS FOR THAT. THAT'S NOT OKAY. FOR 8+ YEARS WE'VE BEEN WORKING SUMMER SCHOOL AND WE'VE GOTTEN PAID ON THE 31ST EVERY SUMMER. IT'S A SMALL HANDFUL OF US THAT HAVE NOW HAD TO REACH OUT TO FAMILY MEMBERS AND ASK IF WE CAN MONEY TO PAY BILLS.

THAT'S JUST NOT OKAY. SOMETHING NEEDS TO CHANGE. SOMETHING TO COME UP WITH A CHECK SOMEWHERE WHERE THEY CAN GIVE US THE MONEY. I DON'T THINK ANYONE WOULD LIKE NOT TO GET PAID. I THINK IF IT WAS IN ANY OF YOUR SHOES OR ANYONE'S SHOES THEY WOULD BE COMPLAINING THAT THEY DIDN'T GET PAID FOR THE DAYS THAT THEY WORKED.

I AM ASKING IF THERE IS A WAY OF SOME SORT OF CHECK THAT COULD PAY AS.

WE WORK REALLY HARD I ONCE AGAIN WE FEEL LIKE WE ARE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE TOTEM POLE AND KNOW ONE CARES THAT WE DON'T GET PAID BUT EVERYONE ELSE GETS PAID.

THAT'S JUST A BIG COMPLAINT AND WE'RE HOPING THAT SOMETHING CAN GET DONE SO THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. IT IS A DETOUR FOR US FOR THAT REASON.

EMPLOYEES. >> WHILE THE EMPLOYEES DID SUBMIT THEIR TIMESHEETS ON TIME TO THEIR SUPERVISOR IN THE EXTENDED SCHOOL YEAR FOR THE PROGRAM IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE TIMESHEETS WERE NOT FROM THE ONE SITE. THEY DID NOT MAKE IT TO PAYROLL UNTIL AFTER THAT SUPPLEMENTAL DEADLINE. WE HAVE PAYROLL AND HUMAN RESOURCES TO THAT EXTENT AND WE HAVE CONVERSATIONS TO LOOK AT WHERE WAS THE BREAKDOWN WHETHER IT WAS IN COMMUNICATION OR PROCESS. WE ENSURE THAT THE PROCESS IS IN PLACE SO THAT NOT ONLY FOLKS CAN GET PAID ON TIME BUT SAID THE DISTRICT HAS CHECKS AND BALANCES STEMS TO NOW IF A TIMESHEET IS MISSING FOR AN EMPLOYEE THAT WORKED DURING A

>> HELLO. I'M VERY HAPPY TO BE HERE. I REALLY LOOK FORWARD TO THIS YEAR AND BEING ABLE TO LEARN A LOT. FROM THE PERSPECTIVE WE ARE CURRENTLY PLANNING OUR PRE-FIRST MEETING WITH THE EXECUTIVE BOARD TO GET EVERYTHING ORGANIZED TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE IS HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR EVERYTHING THAT THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR. I BELIEVE THE FIRST MEETING IS AUGUST 28 ON MONDAY.

I REALLY LOOK FORWARD TO IT. E WILL GET STARTED WITH EVERYTHING THAT WE HAD PLANNED

I KNOW THERE IS STILL A LITTLE BIT OF SUMMER LEFT FOR SOME. I FIRST WANT TO SAY THAT IT IS RATHER NICE NOT BEING THE NEW PERSON APPEAR ANYMORE. WELL, TO OUR STUDENT TRUSTEE.

I KNOW IT CAN BE A GREAT YEAR. FOR ME, I ENJOY HAVING SOMEWHAT OF A BREAK FROM A REGULAR SCHEDULE. AFTER SIX MONTHS OF CAMPAIGNING LASTER AND THEN JUMPING RIGHT INTO THE TRUSTY ROLE IT WAS NICE TO GET A LITTLE BIT OF A BREATHER ON ISSUES RELATED TO THE SCHOOL BOARD. I WAS HAPPY TO GET TO VISIT ONE OF OUR SUMMER SCHOOL SITES THIS SUMMER. THANK YOU TO KRISTIN WALKER FOR THE TOUR ON THE CHAT.

I LEARNED A LOT ABOUT THE HISTORY OF OUR ELEMENTARY SUMMER SCHOOL PROGRAM AND HOW IT EVOLVED AND KEEPS EVOLVING AND HOW THERE'S BEEN A LOT OF THOUGHT PUT INTO CREATING A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE NOT ONLY FOR STUDENTS BUT FOR THE TEACHERS THAT CHOOSE TO WORK IN THAT PROGRAM. HAVE SPOKEN TO A COUPLE OF PARENTS WHOSE CHILDREN PARTICIPATED AND ARE VERY ENTHUSIASTIC ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE.

I ALSO LOVE THAT THE SUMMER THEY RECRUITED HIGH SCHOOL INTERNS UNTIL IT WAS FUN SEEING THEM IN THE CLASSROOM AND I REALLY HOPE THAT THOSE ARE GREAT EXPERIENCES FOR THE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS. I HAVE BEEN THE SUMMER AS I'M SURE MY COLLEAGUES HAVE BEEN DOING, WATCHING AND READING WHATEVER I CAN ON LEGISLATIVE AND POLICY ISSUES.

ONE BIG ONE BEING THE NEW FRAMEWORK THAT WAS ADOPTED BY THE CE IN JULY.

AFTER A FEW YEARS OF DISCUSSION AND WORK THAT WAS NOT WITHOUT CONTROVERSY AND I'M VERY INTERESTED TO SEE HOW THAT NEW FRAMEWORK MAY IMPACT OUR DISTRICT IN REGARD TO MATH INSTRUCTION. I KNOW THIS SUMMER WE HAD A CHANCE TO WITNESS ON A NATIONAL LEVEL THE ONGOING TAX ON PUBLIC EDUCATION. I JUST WANTED TO RECOGNIZE PUBLICLY AGAIN THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS. I SEE IT EVERY DAY NOT ONLY IN THIS ROLE AS A TRUSTEE BUT FROM MY WORK IN THE COUNTY SCHOOLS AND MY PERSONAL FAMILY HISTORY THE IMPORTANCE OF EDUCATION. PUBLIC SCHOOLS ARE FOR ALL OF US AND THEY ARE CRUCIAL TO OFFER AN OPPORTUNITY TO ALL. I'M GRATEFUL TO BE PART OF THE TEAM HERE THAT CHAMPIONS PUBLIC EDUCATION. I'M VERY GRATEFUL TO EVERYONE THAT WORKS DILIGENTLY TO EDUCATE AND DEVELOP THE KIDS IN OUR COMMUNITY. IN THE TRUSTY ROLE GET THE CHANCE TO WITNESS UP CLOSE THE IMMENSE AMOUNT OF WORK THAT GOES INTO PREPARING FOR THE UPCOMING SCHOOL YEAR SO THANK YOU. CLOTHING DONATIONS SO THAT OUR STUDENTS CAN NOT ONLY COME TO SCHOOL PREPARED TO LEARN BUT HAVING A SENSE OF SECURITY COMING TO SCHOOL. AND THEN FINALLY AS A CURRENT PARENT I RECEIVED MY LAST BACK-TO-SCHOOL PACKET IN JULY AS MY YOUNGEST CHILD IS A SENIOR IN HIGH SCHOOL. I WILL ADMIT THAT IT HIT ME HARDER THAN I EXPECTED IT WOULD. MY HEART IS WITH OTHER PARENTS WHO ARE ALSO IN THIS PLACE ALONG WITH THOSE WITH STUDENTS WHO ARE GOING INTO A MILESTONE YEAR.

IT FELT LIKE A VIBRANT HAPPY PLACE. WE POPPED INTO A FEW CLASSROOMS AND I JUST LOOK LIKE EVERYONE IS HAVING FUN AND LEARNING AT THE SAME TIME.

IT WAS A FANTASTIC PERFORMANCE THAT WAS HIGHLY ENTERTAINING. CHARITY KARAOKE IS A GREAT EVENT IN THIS COMMUNITY AND IT SUPPORTS SO MANY ORGANIZATIONS THAT SUPPORT OUR STUDENTS AS WELL AS OUR WHOLE COMMUNITY. THE CITY HAD SOME EFFORT THEY ARE PUTTING IN WITH PARKS AND REC.OPEFULLY WITH USD TO REMIND PEOPLE ABOUT THE BENEFITS OF WALKING OR BIKING TO SCHOOL IN TERMS OF TOGETHERNESS AND TAKING ADVANTAGE OF NATURE IN OUR COMMUNITY IN EVERY SENSE OF THE WORD. THE CITY HAS CREATED A GRASSROOTS TOOLKIT TO INCREASE PARTICIPATION IN THESE KINDS OF ACTIVITIES ROLLING IN SCHOOL.

IT IS IMPORTANT THAT WE RECOGNIZE THAT STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES AND THEIR ATTENDANCE ARE OFTEN NOT A RESULT OF DEFIANCE. NEAR THE VIRGIN STUDENTS OFTEN GRAVEL WITH UNIQUE OBSTACLES BALANCING MENTAL HEALTH, SENSORY SENSITIVITIES, TIME BLINDNESS AND NAVIGATING SOCIAL INTERACTIONS WHILE TRYING TO LEARN AND BE VERY OVERWHELMING.
