MY NAME IS MICHAEL GODFREY, ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL IN CHARGE OF ATHLETICS. I'M HERE WITH OUR ATHLETIC COORDINATOR JASONKLEIN TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR OUR STUDENT ATHLETES . TWO OF OUR FOUR CHAMPION TEAMS IN THE SPRING SEASON. TONIGHT, OUR FUN FACTS.

BOTH OF THESE TEAMS ARE COACHED BY YOUNG WOMEN.

IT IS NOT LOST ON ME AND SHOULD NOT BE LOST IN THE COMMUNITY AS WELL. BOTH OF THESE TEAMS ARE COMPRISED OF STUDENT ATHLETES TO EXCEL NOT ONLY IN ON THE FIELD BUT IN THE CLASSROOM AS WELL.

AS AN EXAMPLE, I HAD A BANQUET FOR TRACK AND FIELD LAST NIGHT AND GAVE TWO AWARDS. STUDENT ATHLETE AND PRINCIPAL SCHOLAR ATHLETE AWARD WINNERS AND WE HAD 90 OF THEM LAST NIGHT. THEY REALLY EXCELLED.

WE ARE RECOGNIZING THE 2023 HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER OF THE YEAR INWOODWORKING AND CONSTRUCTION .

I BELIEVE WE ARE WELCOMING CHRISTINA HARRISON AND ASHLEY COOPER TO THE PODIUM. TO INTRODUCE MR. DANIEL BELL.

WELCOME. GOOD EVENING BOARD MEMBERS AND CABINET. IT IS MY PLEASURE DEFENSE AFTER CLOSER ANALYSIS RELATED AND RECOGNIZE DANIEL BELL AS A HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER OF THE YEAR AND WORKING IN CONSTRUCTION.

SHE WAS ON A BY THE LOS ANGELES INDUSTRIAL ASSOCIATION.

DANIEL PROVIDES OPPORTUNITIES FOR OUR STUDENTS IN REAL-WORLD SETTINGS. HE TEACHES THEM TO BE EMPLOYEES, TEACH THEM SKILLS THAT THEY TAKE FORWARD IN THE WORLD. SOME OF THEM GOING TO TRADE AND SOME OF THEM ARE NOT ABLE TO HANDLE FIREMEN 'S VISION INCLUDES, HIS BELT WAS SHARP AS INDUSTRY STANDARD MACHINERY, OUR KIDS ARE TRAINED IN THE MACHINERY AND THEY ARE ABLE TO DEVELOP SKILLS IN CONSTRUCTION AND ARCHITECTURE.

HE SOUNDED THE THOUSAND OAKS HIGH SCHOOL CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY TEAM HAS WON MANY AWARDS AT THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY EDUCATION FOUNDATION. OUR STUDENTS HAVE BEEN RECOGNIZED AS A TOP SAFETY TEAM OVER AND OVER AGAIN, AND OUR STUDENTS HAVE ON SCHOLARSHIPS FOR THEIR EFFORTS.

HE HAS CREATED A CTE ARCHITECTURE PATHWAY WERE STUDENTS TAKE COURSES IN ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN AND COMPUTER DRAFTING. HE OFFERS CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY PATHWAY CONSISTING OF WOODWORKING PRINCIPLES AND CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY BOTH AT THE CP AND HONORS LEVELS.

HIS WOODWORKING PRINCIPLES CLASSES BEEN ARTICULATED SORTED INTO TAKE THAT COURSE FOR COLLEGE CREDIT AS WELL.

HE HAS PUT THIS PROGRAM THROUG COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS .

HIS PEOPLE IN DIFFERENT TRADES TO DONATE GOODS, PRESENT TO CLASSES, ADVISE THE CONSTRUCTION TECH TEAM AND MUCH MORE.EVERY SUMMER, HE PARTICIPATES IN A WOMAN IN CONSTRUCTION PROGRAM HELD UP AT THE AIRPORT WHERE IT IS ALL TEACHING YOUNG WOMEN HOW TO BUILD A TINY HOUSE AND GIVING THEM OPPORTUNITIES WHERE I DO NOT KNOW THEY WOULD FIND OTHER THAN THAT. WE ARE HONORED TO HAVE THEM AS A PART OF THE THOUSANDOAKS HIGH SCHOOL COMMUNITY .

WE HELD OUR ASSEMBLY ON MAY 12 WHEN SHE RECOGNIZED A STANDARD CREDIT RECOVERY.

AFTER THE SENIOR MEETING, WE WILL HAVE AN ALL SCHOOL BARBECUE PROVIDED BY CHILD NUTRITION.RIDAY, TWO TEAMS WILL PARTICIPATE IN THE ALTERNATIVE EDUCATION THREE ON THREE BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT CONTINUATION SCHOOLS ARE INVITED TO PARTICIPATE. THE TEEN CENTER HOST THE TOURNAMENT AND PROVIDES A BARBECUE AND CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY. OUR INTERACT CLUB COMPLETED - - TISSUE BOXES AND ETC. FOR THE BUNNY BRIGADE CLUB MEMBERS USE THESE TO CONSTRUCT TOYS FOR BUNNIES AT THE CARE OF THE CHS.

A FIELD TRIP IS PLANNED TO COMPLETE THE SERVICE PROJECT ON MAY 25. SPEAKING OF SCHOLARSHIPS, OVER $40,000 WILL BE AWARDED TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CLASS OF 2022. THESE INCLUDE SCHOLARSHIPS FROM THE WESTLAKE WOMEN'S CLUB, THE MAD ADDICT, WESTMINSTER CLINIC AND MANY SCHOOL-BASED SCHOLARSHIPS.

MOST NOTABLY, THE ASSISTANCE LEAGUE HAS SELECTED NINE DRAGONS AS RECIPIENTS OF THE $2000 SCHOLARSHIP.

SENIORS ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO GRANT THAT ON JUNE 2 AT UNIVERSAL STUDIOS. GRADUATION IS THURSDAY, JUNE 15 AT 2:00 P.M.. YOU ARE ALL AWARE - - IS A VERY SPECIAL EVENT.

TO TAKE THE PRESIDENT AND PLAYED WITH THE JAZZ BAND AND OUR STRENGTHS GROUP WENT TO CHICAGO TO PERFORMANCE SYMPHONY HALL FOR THE FIRST FESTIVAL OF GOLD TRIP. WE HAD THE ALL DISTRICT FESTIVAL IN THE PERFORMING ARTS THEATER ON THE 20TH AND 23RD FOR STRING AND THE 24TH OF BAND.

WINTER SPRING DANCE CONCERT FROM THE WEEKEND OF THE 20TH TO THE 22ND WE ARE BEGINNING TO INTERMEDIATE DANCE CLASSES PUT ON A SHOWCASE OF DANCES THAT RUN THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.

AT THE SEMINAR, SENIORS WERE INFORMED OF IMPORTANT EVENTS AND DEADLINES FOR PURCHASING TICKETS TO ATTEND THE EVENT. THE WONDERFUL PANORAMIC PICTURE WAS TAKEN FOR THE CLASS OF 2023.

THERE WERE GREAT MY BIG SMILES THAT DAY.

THEY HOSTED THE THIRD RALLY OF THE YEAR IN LANCER STADIUM.

THE THEME OF THE RALLY WAS SUPER MARIO PRODUCED IT IS PARTICIPATED IN SEVERAL GAMES IN THE PERFORMANCES BUT MANY DIFFERENT GROUPS ON CAMPUS INCLUDING STUNT, DANCE, SPARKLES AND MORE. THOUSAND OAKS HAS LATINO CONNECTION ALONG WITH WESTLAKE HIGH SCHOOL IN NEWBERRY PARK HIGH SCHOOL IN THE DISTRICT HOSTED THE ANNUAL LATINO CONNECTION DANCE TO START SPRING BREAK.

MANY TROOPS ARRIVED DRESSED UP AND READY TO ENJOY SOME GREAT MUSIC AND DANCE ALL NIGHT. OUR INCREDIBLE DANCE PROGRAM ALSO HOSTED THE ANNUAL SPRING DANCE CONCERT.

JUST A FEW THINGS I WANTED TO TOUCH ON.SINCE OUR LAST BOARD MEETING, WE HAD A SPECIAL BOARD MEETING TALKING ABOUT BOARD GOALSETTING. I WANT TO TAKE A MOMENT TO THANK MY FELLOW TRUSTEES, THANK DOCTOR MACLACHLAN AND THE CANDIDATE FOR WHAT WAS REALLY PRODUCTIVE DISCUSSION .

IT'S NOT ALWAYS THE TOWN WOULD TAKE - - THAT WAS THE TIME FOR THAT AND I THOUGHT IT WAS WELL USED.

THESE SESSIONS GIVE US THE TIME AND THE ABILITY TO HAVE BUT I THINK ARE IMPORTANT DISCUSSIONS AND ABILITIES TO SHARE OUR IDEAS.FROM A GOVERNANCE STANDPOINT, THAT IS WHEN THE TIME IS PARTICULARLY USEFUL. WE APPROACH THOSE DISCUSSIONS WITH DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES, WE HAVE DIFFERENT BACKGROUNDS BUT THE ONE THING I KNOW IS THAT WE ARE ALL ALIGNED WITH KEEPING ALL OF OUR STUDENTS PARAMOUNT IN OUR DECISION-MAKING AND ENSURING THE NEEDS OF ALL OUR STAKEHOLDERS ARE CONSIDERED IN THAT.AS TRUSTEE LOPEZ MENTIONED, THERE IS THE ROADSHOW AND I WANT TO SEE THE ENTIRE BOARD INCLUDING TRUSTEE LOPEZ ATTENDED. I APPRECIATE NOT ONLY THE WORK THAT WENT INTO PREPARING THE DECK, WHICH ENDED ONCE AGAIN WITH THE VERY HEARTWARMING VIDEO, BUT ALL THE WORK THAT IS REALLY TAKING PLACE THROUGHOUT THE DISTRICT TO SUPPORT THIS VISION AND CHANGE THE CULTURE AND MINDSET. I THINK WE SHOULD ALL BE PROUD OF WHAT WE ACCOMPLISHED. I KNOW WE ARE NOT THERE YET AND HAVE SOME TIME TO GO BUT BE CONFIDENT GET THE RIGHT PEOPLE IN THE RIGHT PLACES TO ENSURE THAT WE GET THERE.

THIS IS ALSO THE LAST MEETING FOR CHAIR KAREN BELL WAS IN A TREMENDOUS JOB. SHE STARTED TWO YEARS AGO RUNNING THE MEETINGS ON ZOOM. SHE HAS LED THIS GROUP SETTING SOMETIMES SPIRITED, SOMETIMES TEARFUL DISCUSSIONS.

BEING ONE OF THE MOST POSITIVE, UPLIFTING PEOPLE I'VE HAD THE PLEASURE OF GETTING TO KNOW. I WANT TO THANK HER FOR HER HARD WORK AND TRUE DEDICATION TO THE CHILDREN IN THIS DISTRICT. I KNOW SHE IS REMAINING NEXT YEAR SO WE WILL CONTINUE TO BENEFIT FROM HER EXPERTISE AND DEVOTION. UNFORTUNATELY I CANNOT ATTEND THAT MEETING BUT I DO WANT TO GIVE A PUBLIC SHOUT OUT AND APPRECIATION WHO AFTER 12 YEARS IS GRADUATING AND MOVING ON TO COLLEGE. HER INSIGHTS INTO ALL THE ISSUES AND OPPORTUNITIES THROUGHOUT CONEJO VALLEY ARE SPOT ON, WELL REASONED AND INCREDIBLY PERCEPTIVE.

SOMETIMES UNCOMFORTABLE. I FOUND HER POINT OF VIEW AND PERSPECTIVE INVALUABLE TO ME AS A FORMER DISTRICT PARENT AND EX-REP MYSELF, OUR CURRENT TRUSTEE AND BASICALLY HER FRIEND. WE WILL MISS HER, BUT I DO KNOW THATSHE IS NOT GOING FAR . SHE'S NOT GOING ALL THE WAY TO COLLEGE.YESTERDAY, I ATTENDED A BUDGET MEETING WHICH WE HAD A GREAT DISCUSSION AND I WANT TO THANK ALICE TO FOR FACILITATING AND LEADING THIS GROUP. YOU'LL HEAR MORE ABOUT THE DISCUSSIONS AND WHAT THE OUTCOME WAS SOMETIME NEXT MONTH. IT'S REALLY A PREMIER LEVEL OF SERVICE OF OUR STUDENTS. WE ARE RECOMMENDING THAT FOR, ELEMENTARY, GLOBAL ELEMENTARY AS WELL AS - - ACADEMY FOR NEXT YEAR. WE HAVE SELECTED THESE FOR PARTICULAR SCHOOLS ACKNOWLEDGING THAT THE SCHOOLS ARE TITLE ONE SCHOOLS THEY DO REPRESENT TITLE I SCHOOLS THAT HAVE THE HIGHEST NUMBER OF UNDUPLICATED STUDENTS.

THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND THE STRANDS AND IN TERMS OF THE WAY IT IS ORGANIZED, WE HAVE SCHOOL COUNSELING AND WE HAVE MENTAL HEALTH. COULD YOU TALK A LITTLE ABOUT HOW MAYBE THERE HAS BEEN PROGRESS OR HOW YOU HAVE BEEN WORKING TOWARD THAT ALIGNMENT, ESPECIALLY AS WE ARE SHIFTING A LITTLE BIT INTO THE TIER1, TIER2, TIER3?

WE HAVE RELIED HEAVILY ON WELLNESS ESPECIALLY OVER THE YEARS FOR ADDITIONAL TIER 3 SUPPORT.

AS EMILY MENTIONED, SCHOOL COUNSELORS PROVIDE SIX TO EIGHT LESSONS AT THE TIER 3 LEVEL. AND FOR THOSE WHO NEED MORE OF AN ONGOING AND THERAPEUTIC-TYPE SUPPORT, WE HAVE BEEN THANKFUL

TO OFFER THAT ON OUR CAMPUSES. >> AND I CAN SPEAK TO THE SECONDARY LEVEL. I KNOW WE ARE IN THE MIDST OF ONGOING CONVERSATIONS ABOUT WHAT THAT ROLE DIFFERENTIATION MIGHT LOOK LIKE SO THAT WE CAN MINIMIZE THE OVERLAP.

THAT WAY WE CAN REACH MORE STUDENTS MORE DEEPLY IF WE ARE NOT DOING THE SAME THING. IF WE ARE TEACHING LOOP GOALS AND THEN OTHERS ARE TEACHING SMART GOALS.

SO WE NEED THE WELLNESS ACROSS PROGRAMS AND ACROSS SITES WITH OTHER TEAM MEMBERS THAT ARE A PART OF THE TIERED LEVELS ON CAMPUS. THAT'S DEFINITELY AN ONGOING CONVERSATION WE ARE HAVING BOTH AS WE GO THROUGH THE HATCHING TRAINING AND THE WELLNESS CENTERS GROW ON OUR SITE.

I HEARD FROM A LOT OF STUDENTS THAT THE WAY WE TRIED TO IMPLEMENT SEL ESPECIALLY AT THE SECONDARY HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL CAN FEEL A LITTLE INAUTHENTIC AND CONTRIVED AND TEACHERS FEEL THE DELIVERANCE WAS SUCH AS WELL. I THINK THIS IS EXACTLY THE POINT OF THE SCHOOL COUNSELOR. WE ARE USING LESSON THAT'S HAVE SEL, POST ACADEMIC AND SECONDARY TOGETHER.

WE ARE ABOUT TO GIVE A TIER 1 LESSON TO THE JUNIORS AT WESTLAKE. AND HOPEFULLY IT WILL BE LEVERAGING OUR CALIFORNIA COLLEGES.EDU PLAT -- PLATFORM.

NOW WE WILL SLIP IN ANOTHER VALUES-BASED ACTIVITY AND WE WILL TALK ABOUT COLLEGE AND TALK ABOUT ORGANIZATIONAL STRATEGIES.

THIS IS A HUGE PROCESS FOR STUDENTS TO IMAGINE.

YOU WILL SEE OUR WELLNESS SERVICES AND OUR WELLNESS CENTERS. THOSE ARE OUR PREVENTION-BASED SERVICES. AND THEN THE BOTTOM 4 BULLETS ARE THE SERVICES THAT ARE OFFERED THROUGH THE SPECIAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT. I JUST WANT TO HIGHLIGHT A COUPLE OF THINGS HERE. ONE IS WE CAN PROVIDE WELLNESS SERVICES WHICH WE HAVE DONE WITH OUR SECONDARY SITES FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW. IT IS JUST BY REALLY PARTNERING WITH OUR COUNSELING TEAMS AND HAVING SOME OF OUR STUDENT

INTERNS WORK AT SOME OF THE OVER FLOW AND THE TIER 3 SERVICE PROVISION. AND THEN WE HAVE -- WHEN WE CAN PUT A WELLNESS CENTER ON A SITE, THEN WE HAVE THE ABILITY TO KIND OF EXPAND THOSE SERVICES AND BE MORE CONSISTENT WITH WHAT WE PROVIDE. BUT I WANTED TO TALK FOR A COUPLE MINUTES ABOUT OUR SPECIAL ED SERVICES BECAUSE THERE HAVE BEEN A FEW CHANGES IN OUR CONTINUUM THIS YEAR.

YOU WILL SEE WE PROVIDE OUR DIS COUNSELING, THE DESIGNATED INSTRUCTIONAL SERVICES. THIS YEAR WE ALSO HAD A SHIFT IN OUR FUNDING WHICHMENT -- WHICH MEANT WE BECAME AWARE OF A CONTRACT WE HAD OF THE COLLABORATIVE EDUCATION SERVICES OR CO-EXS. I TOLD YOU A FEW YEARS BACK ABOUT HOW ALL I TALK ABOUT IS THE WELLNESS CENTER, WELL NOW IT IS CO-EDS. THIS IS A SERVICE THAT IS INTENDED TO BE A MORE INTENSIVE SERVICE.

IT PROVIDES ONE ON ONE SERVICE. IT CAN HAPPEN LIKE FIVE DAYS A WEEK FOR OUR STUDENTS AND PARENT SUPPORT AND THEN MONTHLY FAMILY SCHOOL TEAM MEETINGS. AND WHEN WE REALLY LOOK AT WHAT WAS HAPPENING AND THE ACCESS TO THESE SERVICES, WE FOUND OUR STUDENTS WERE REALLY UNDER UTILIZING THE SERVICE.

THE MINUTES THAT WERE BEING OFFERED WERE NOT BEING UTILIZED.

AND SO ME BEING ME, I DECIDED THAT WE ARE CVUSD AND I SAID LET'S SEE IF WE CAN INCREASE ACCESS.

THAT HAS BEEN ONE SHIFT IN OUR SERVICES.

WE WILL SERVE ALL STUDENTS WHO HAVE CO-ED.

AND THEN THE OTHER SERVICE WE PROVIDED IS -- THAT IS NEWER IS WE PILOTED OUR EDUCATIONALLY RELATED SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL FAMILIES. I AM EXCITED ABOUT THIS.

BASICALLY WHAT IT IS IS WE ARE PUTTING TIME INTO A STUDENTS' IEP FOR FAMILY THERAPY AND IT IS A GAME CHANGER.

SOME OF OUR STUDENTS HAVE BEEN RECEIVING DIS COUNSELING FOR YEARS AND YEARS AND YEARS. AND THEY ARE SENT HOME TO SYSTEM THAT'S HAVEN'T REALLY CHANGED ALONG WITH THE SERVICE.

AND SO WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO SERVE 17 FAMILIES THIS YEAR AND JUST SEEING SOME REALLY, REALLY GOOD RESULTS IN TERMS OF HOW OUR STUDENTS AND THEIR PARENTS ARE FUNCTIONING.

I WANTED TO HIGHLIGHT THAT AND I HAVE TO SHOUT OUT TO KAREN.

SHE HAS SPEAR HEADED BOTH OF THE PROGRAMS. SO IF YOU SEE HER, DON'T ASK HER HOW SHE IS DOING.

JUST SAY GOOD JOB. AND IN OUR SPECIAL EDUCATION SERVICES -- THE LAST THING I WILL SAY, WE SERVED MORE THAN 700 STUDENTS PER YEAR THROUGH THESE SERVICES.

THEY ARE A BIG BULK OF THE MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES.

LET'S TALK ABOUT THE GRANT. WE RECEIVED A SCHOOL-BASED MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES GRANT. IT WAS BIG NEWS.

AND WE ARE SUPER EXCITED. THE BIG THING THIS GRANT DID FOR US IS IT BASICALLY ALLOWED US TO CONTINUE TO FUND OUR WELLNESS CENTERS. EVERYONE KEEPS SAYING YOU HAVE ALL THIS MONEY. THE MONEY WAS REALLY KIND OF SPENT BEFORE WE GOT IT. WE WERE USING STIMULUS FUNDING TO FUND OUR WELLNESS CENTERS AND NOW WE HAVE FIVE MORE YEARS OF FUNDING. IT ALSO -- IT WAS ALSO A VERY GOOD TRANSITION FOR US BECAUSE WE HAD SOME OF THE BASICS OF OUR PROGRAM ALREADY IN PLACE SO IT HAS BEEN AN EASIER TRANSITION.

BASICALLY WE WROTE THE GRANT ASKING TO EX -- EXTEND THE SERVICES WE ALREADY HAD IN PLACE AND THEN TO EXTEND AND EXPAND SOME OF THE WELLNESS SERVICES SO WE CAN HAVE MORE SERVICES AT OUR WELLNESS SITES AND THEN PROVIDE SERVICES AT THE ELEMENTARY LEVEL. WE ALSO WROTE INTO THE GRANT REALLY WANTING TO EXPAND OUR SUICIDE PREVENTION TRAINING.

IT SADDENS ME TO SAY THAT WE THIS YEAR HAVE SEEN A HUGE UP TICK IN THE NUMBER OF RISK ASSESSMENTS THAT WE ARE DOING AT OUR ELEMENTARY LEVEL. WE ARE WELL INTO THE 40S.

I THINK THE MOST THAT WE HAVE EVER DONE IN A SCHOOL YEAR IS 9.

THERE IS CONCERN THERE AND WE WANT TO MAKE SURE ON YOU -- SURE OUR STAFF IS EQUIPPED AS POSSIBLE TO CATCH THESE KIDS BEFORE IT GETS TOO -- YOU KNOW, BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE SO THESE ARE THE POSITIONS THAT THE GRANT FUNDS.

THE DIRECTOR, WHICH IS ME. WE HAVE A SENIOR MENTAL HEALTH

CLINICIAN, TWO MENTAL HEALTH CLINICIAN 2'S.

AND THESE POSITIONS ARE IMPORTANT BECAUSE THEY PROVIDE CLINICAL SUPERVISION WHICH I PROBABLY SAY EVERY TIME I GET UP HERE TOO. WE NEED CLINICAL SUPERVISORS IN ORDER TO HOST THE GRADUATE SCHOOL INTERNS THAT WE HAVE WITH OUR -- FROM OUR UNIVERSITY PARTNERS.

AND WE WILL HAVE 10 FULL TIME MENTAL HEALTH CLINICIAN ONE'S.

ANOTHER THING THAT WAS NICE ABOUT THE PROCESS IS WE WERE ABLE TO RELY ON SOME OF THE STAFF THAT WE ALREADY HAD IN PLACE. IT IS EXCITING.

ONE OF MY FAVORITE PARTS OF MY JOB IS TO TAKE A GRADUATE INTERN AND PROVIDE SOME REALLY GOOD TRAINING AND THEN SEE THEM MOVE INTO AN ASSOCIATE LEVEL AND THEY GET MORE INTENSIVE TRAINING THROUGH SOME OF THE SPECIAL EDUCATION SERVICES AND NOW SEE THEM MANNING AND STKAFING THEIR -- AND STAFFING THEIR OWN WELLNESS CENTERS AND GROWING AS PROFESSIONAL PROFESSIONALS.

AND THEN I HAVE AN ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT WHICH IS A GAME CHANGER. SHE IS RIGHT HERE.

>> AND THIS IS THE AMOUNT OF THE AWARD.

AND I REALLY HAVE TO GIVE A SHOUT OUT HERE TO SUSAN TUCKER WHO HAD THE FORE SIGHT TO KNOW THAT OUR STAFFING COSTS WILL INCREASE A LOT FROM YEAR TO YEAR.

AND SO SHE AND DR. EGENS WORKED ON THE BUDGET NARRATIVE AND REALLY BUILT IN SOME CUSHIONS THAT WILL THOUGHT BE CUSHIONS BASED ON WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH JUST OUR PAY RAISES AND OUR HEALTH AND WELFARE BENEFITS. THIS IS HOW THE FUNDING WILL PLAY OUT OVER THE NEXT FIVE YEARS.

AND THIS IS THE TK*EUS -- DISTRIBUTION OF THE NEW POSITIONS. SO WE WILL HAVE A MENTAL HEALTH CLINICIAN THAT IS DEDICATED TO OUR FOSTER STUDENTS.

WE WILL HAVE TWO MENTAL HEALTH CLINICIANS AT OUR ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS. WE ARE PARTNERING WITH ELEMENTARY TO DO WORK WITH TITLE ONE'S.

WE ARE HOPING TO AT LEAST PROVIDE AN ADDITIONAL DAY OF SERVICE AT EVERY SINGLE ELEMENTARY SITE.

AND WE ARE WORKING WITH OUR ELEMENTARY TEAM TO FIGURE OUT THE DIFFERENCES IN OUR ROLES AND WHO IS GONNA TAKE ON WHICH CASES. THERE NEEDS TO BE WEEKLY OR EVERY OTHER WEEK KPWHAOUPB -- COMMUNICATION BETWEEN OUR WELLNESS TEAMS AND OUR COUNSELORS TO MAKE SURE THAT EVERYBODY IS ON THE SAME PAGE AND KNOWS WHO IS RECEIVING WHAT SERVICES. THAT HAPPENS AT THE MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOLS NOW. WE WILL HAVE FIVE CLINICIANS AT THE MIDDLE SCHOOLS AND TWO MENTAL HEALTH CLINICIAN 2'S AND TWO MENTAL HEALTH CLINICIAN ONE'S AT OUR HIGH SCHOOL.

AND THIS IS THE PROGRESS SO FAR. WE HIRED LOTS OF PEOPLE.

WE PRETTY MUCH HIRED EVERYBODY THAT IS FUNDED IN THE GRANT WITH THE HELP OF THE SENIOR MENTAL HEALTH CLINICIAN.

WE MET WITH THE SCHOOL COUNSELORS AND THE SOCIAL WORKERS TO PLAN A SERVICE IMPLEMENTATION.

WE HAD A TRAINING AND WE WILL BE EXPANDING OUR SUICIDE EXPANSION PLANNING TO OUR ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS.

AND WE ARE GOING TO PROVIDE TRAINING TO OUR COACHES AND CAMPUS SUPERVISORS AND TO PEOPLE WHO REALLY HAVE EYES ON OUR KIDS ALL OF THE TIME. SO THAT IS A LOGISTICAL CHALLENGE AND WE ARE WORKING THROUGH THAT.

AND THEN WE HAVE ESTABLISHED A DATA COLLECTION TOOL THAT WILL ESTABLISH THAT WE ARE COLLECTING THE DATA THAT OUR GRANTOS ARE REQUIRING OF US. -- GRANTORS ARE REQUIRING OF US.

AND I PUT THIS SLIDE IN TO DEMONSTRATE HOW WE HAVE GROWN IN WELLNESS AND HOW WE STARTED WITH JUST HOSTING INTERNS FROM THE UNIVERSITIES AND PARTNERS WITH OUR COUNSELORS TO PROVIDE THE TIER3 INTERVENTIONS AND WHERE WE COME IN TERMS OF JUST BEING ABLE TO REDUCE BARRIERS FOR STUDENTS TO ACCESS MENTAL HEALTH.

WHENEVER I LOOK AT THIS AND I KNOW IT IS PROCESSED DATA, I JUST CAN'T -- I LOVE THE DROP IN DATA.

I FEEL LIKE STUDENTS AT A MINIMUM ARE LEARNING THAT THEIR MENTAL HEALTH IS IMPORTANT AND THAT IT IS OKAY TO ASK FOR HELP WE MAY NOT KHAOEUPBG THE COURSE OF THEIR -- CHANGE THE COURSE OF THEIR LIFE AND THEY MAY NOT KNOW THAT, BUT AT LEAST THEY ARE WORKING THROUGH THE STIGMA ASSOCIATED WITH MENTAL HEALTH.

I FEEL LIKE THIS GENERATION OF STUDENTS DOES NOT CARRY THE SAME STIGMA THAT SOME PRIOR GENERATIONS HAVE CARRIED.

THAT MIGHT NOT BE FOR EVERY STUDENT, BUT I THINK OUR DATA DOES SPEAK TO THE FACT THAT STUDENTS WANT HELP.

THEY ARE UNCOME -- UNCOMFORTABLE AND THEY WILL SEEK OUT AND SELF-ADVOCATE FOR THAT. AND SO HERE IS OUR PLANS GOING FORWARD. WE WANT TO CONTINUE TO COLLABORATE WITH OUR SCHOOL COUNSELORS FOR COORDINATED SERVICES. WE WANT TO ESTABLISH A PRESENCE ON OUR WEBSITE. NOW THAT WE ARE AN -P OFFICIAL DEPARTMENT -- AN OFFICIAL DEPARTMENT WE WANT MORE INFORMATION THAT IS ACCESSIBLE AND WHAT ARE WE DOING IN WELLNESS AND RESOURCES THAT THEY CAN ACCESS OUTSIDE OF SCHOOLS AND HAVE A HEALTHY COMMUNICATION WITH THEIR KIDS AND THE SIGNS TO LOOK FOR AND WHEN TO SEEK OUT HELP.

AND THEN WE HAVE BEEN PARTNERING WITH OUR LAW ENFORCEMENT PARTNERS TO TEASE OUT OUR RISK ASSESSMENT PROCESS. THE GOOD NEWS IS THEY LIKE OUR RISK ASSESSMENT. BUT WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A THREAT ASSESSMENT AND A RISK ASSESSMENT? AND DO WE NEED TWO SEPARATE TRACKS FOR ASSESSING RISK? 1 OF THE THINGS THEY SAID THAT RESONATED IS THERE IS AN OVER LAP IN THREATS. SOMEBODY THREATENING THE THREAT HAS THE ULTIMATE GOAL OF ENDING THEIR OWN LIVES.
